Charting spring's makeup looks

March 29th, 2012

Here are the color charts to go with my story in the paper today on spring's makeup trends.

I'm also doing a little giveaway with products courtesy of Sephora and Bare Escentuals, of an cosmetic pouch from Sephora in the color of the season—you should know it by now—that contains Bare Escentuals Buxom Shangri-La-La blush and The Deep End bronzer, Sephora shimmer peach lipgloss, an eyelash curler and mini brush set. Just let me know you want to enter with a comment and I'll draw a name 5 p.m. March 30. Good luck!

The colors in the chart created for "Sunset Glow" look on Jessica Vitale were toned down to give it a more wearable look than the one created for print. Featured are:

Face: Sephora Collection Age-defying moisturizer and Make Up For Ever High-Definition primer, Sephora Collection Mattifying Powder, Sephora Collection "Argentinean Duo" and "Let's Dance" cheek contour.

Eyes: Sephora Collection "Brazilian Sea" eyeshadow quad, Sephora Collection "Rich Chestnut" eyebrow pencil.

Lips: Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year "Luminous" lipgloss.

Stylist tip:Sephora senior artist Lineé says, "Primer is a busy gals best friend! It smooths out lines, pores and helps to ensure the wear of your makeup. Many primers also help with blend ability and discoloration of the skin.

Make Up For Ever eyeshadow #301 on inner corner, Anastasia Beauty Express "Brunette" for brows, and Stila "Stingray" Smudge Stick eyeliner. Diorshow Lash Maximize and Diorshow "Blackout" waterproof mascara.

Lips: Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip 17C waterproof lipliner pencil, Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense #40 lipstick and Make Up For Ever Lab Shine lipgloss.

Stylist tip: Sephora senior artist Lineé says, "Make your pout stand out! Adding a touch of highlight above the cupids bow and in the center of the lip makes lips pop!"

Only Urban Decay products were used to create Chelsea Pang's updated smoky eye and clean, golden spring look.

Face: Pore-perfecting face primer, cream-to-powder foundation, "Gilded" bronzer.

Eyes: Naked2 Palette, "Perversion" and "Demolition" eye pencils, "Brown Sugar" brow box, Super Curl mascara.

Stylist tip: Finish up with All-Nighter Setting Spray to keep makeup looking fresh for hours.
